What this card is actually saying

Things are genuinely good right now, or about to be. This isn't wishful thinking or forced positivity. The hard part is behind you and you can actually see the results of your efforts paying off. After The Moon's confusion and The Tower's destruction and The Star's quiet recovery, The Sun arrives — the most unambiguously positive card in the entire Major Arcana.

What's in the card

An enormous golden sun with a human face fills the top of the card, radiating straight and wavy beams of light in every direction. Below it, a naked child with arms spread wide rides a white horse in front of a grey stone wall. A red banner or cloth streams from the child's left hand. Behind the wall, four tall sunflowers turn their faces toward the sun. The child wears a wreath of flowers and feathers. There is nothing dark, nothing hidden, nothing ambiguous in this scene — every element is bathed in yellow light, warm and fully visible.

As feelings

Pure relief mixed with genuine excitement. Like when you finally understand something that's been confusing you for months, or when you realize the thing you were worried about actually worked out fine. The naked child on the horse has nothing to hide and nothing to fear — that openness is what you're feeling. Arms spread wide, heart completely exposed, and no need for armor.

You know you should be happy but something feels off. Maybe the good news came with strings attached, or you're too exhausted from the struggle to properly enjoy the victory. The sunflowers behind the wall still turn toward the light — the joy is there, just partially blocked from view.

In love

If you're single, you're in that sweet spot where you actually like yourself and aren't desperately looking for someone to complete you.
